Outlander fans will have to wait until 2024 for the second half of season seven to air, but actress and producer Caitríona Balfe has shared some behind-the-scenes stories from filming with co-star Sam Heughan. Balfe and Heughan have been portraying the beloved couple Claire and Jamie Fraser since the show's debut in 2014, and their chemistry has been a key factor in its success.
However, not everything always goes smoothly on set. During The Women of Outlander panel at the ATX TV Festival, Balfe revealed that she was always the first to break into laughter during filming, thanks to Heughan's ability to crack her up. She also admitted to playing the role of a "momma bear" and reeling in her co-star John Bell whenever there was too much joking on set. Balfe and Heughan have made it a point to create a warm and friendly working environment, with the show's casting director Suzanne Smith bringing in talented and kind people.
Despite the delay in filming the eighth and final season due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Outlander fans can still look forward to the continuation of season seven in the near future.
